Conference on the EU – Canada Relationship: exploring the benefits of closer ties

The Italian Chamber of Commerce in Canada-West is organizing a Conference on the European Union – Canada relationship.

This conference is the concluding event of a two year long project partially funded by the European Commission with the goal of organizing a series of activities to promote awareness among the business communities of Western Canada of the benefits of the Comprehensive and Economic Trade Agreement (CETA) currently under negotiation between Canada and the EU.

Successful round table events have been held in Winnipeg, Saskatoon, Regina, Calgary, Edmonton and Vancouver in cooperation with local Chambers of Commerce and Boards of Trade.

The concluding event will be a conference in Vancouver which will provide an opportunity for the representatives of the Chambers and Boards of Trade, in the presence of representatives of the European Commission and the Canadian Minister of International Trade, the Honourable Ed Fast, to give a voice to their constituent business communities with regards to the challenges and opportunities presented by the enhanced economic agreement.

Who should attend:
This conference is designed for leaders and stakeholders in the business community as well as from government, academia, the diplomatic community and non-governmental organizations.

Location:       Fairmont Hotel Vancouver, Vancouver Island Room, 900 W. Georgia St., Vancouver

Date:             Monday, November 28th, 2011

Time:             9am – 2 pm

This event is partially funded by the European Commission.  There is no cost to attend, but space is limited and qualified participants must register in advance.
